Zumba Gold®

Description

Perfect for beginners and active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba® class that recreates popular original Zumba® moves at a lower-intensity. The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba® choreography that incorporates exercises for legs, glutes (bums), arms, vertical core and balance. Come ready to sweat, and prepare to leave empowered and feeling strong. This class is one hour long and focuses on all elements of fitness: cardiovascular, muscular conditioning, flexibility and balance. Wear suitable clothing and footwear for working out and don’t forget your water bottle!

Strengthen & Stretch Workout

Description

This is a unique strength training, conditioning and flexibility class that specifically focuses on improving strength, muscle tone, functional mobility, and suppleness.

Using resistance bands, resistance rope (new) and body weight, you are guided through a series of strength training exercises targeting all major muscle groups. Stretches are performed after each exercise to lengthen muscles and improve joint range of motion and in cool-down at the end of the session along with relaxation.

The UK fitness guidelines state that we should be doing strengthening activities that work our major muscles twice a week for maintaining general health and wellbeing and for healthy ageing. This class can contribute to your weekly strength training goals.

This one hour class is suitable for all adults and all abilities. If you are in rehabilitation due to injury or have impaired mobility, the exercises can be adapted to suit your needs. You will need to bring along a mat and water bottle and wear suitable clothing and footwear for exercising. Bands and resistance ropes will be provided and are also available to buy.

Please Note: This class includes floor-based exercises but adaptations using chairs/wall can be given.

Walking Netball

Description

This is a fabulously fun, social and flexible version of netball. Set at a walking pace, it is designed for anyone to play regardless of age, gender or fitness level. It’s especially great if you have dropped out of the game due to serious injury or have never had the opportunity to play netball before or you just love the game and fancy having a go again. If you are unable or reluctant to run anymore then this slower paced version is for you. There is a strong camaraderie and social element to the sessions, giving an outlet to anyone feeling isolated and on their own. You can expect to follow the same formats as traditional netball sessions including warm-up, mini games and drills, followed by a friendly game. No need for special kit, just comfortable exercise clothing, good fitting trainers, a water bottle, good humour and a smile!
