SCHOOL DANCE & FITNESS PROGRAMMES

School dance and fitness programmes are developed in conjunction with curriculum and extracurricular requirements

Keeping physically active on a daily basis is incredibly important during a childs growing years. From childhood to young adulthood the physiological changes and adaptations the body goes through is very dependant on lifestyle behaviours. Keeping active, following a balanced diet, getting adequate sleep and taking care of emotional wellbeing are all key factors to promoting good health and development. It is particularly crucial for healthy bone growth, heart health and positive mental wellbeing. I believe an active lifestyle is the most important link to better health and wellbeing for everyone but especially for children because it sets the foundations for healthier future habits. This ultimately will contribute to reducing the risk factors of age-related diseases.

So how do we do it? We need to provide an environment where a child is highly motivated and engaged and that includes fun, challenge and opportunities for success. My school programmes aim to fulfill all those ideals. Together with my experience in teaching and learning and physical education, I can offer bespoke dance and fitness classes that can complement school curriculums and extra curricular activities.

ALISON DELIVERED EXTRA-CURRICULAR LINE DANCE LESSONS AT ASHBOURNE PRIMARY FOR 1 HOUR A WEEK FOR A TOTAL OF 5 WEEKS. THROUGHOUT, ALISON WAS ENTHUSIASTIC IN HER DELIVERY THUS ENSURING THAT THE CHILDREN REMAINED ENGAGED. ALSION USED HER PREVIOUS TEACHING EXPERIENCE TO ENSURE INCLUSION, STRETCHING AND SUPPORTING AS NECESSARY. FEEDBACK FROM THE CHILDREN WAS OVERWHELMINGLY POSITIVE, THEY ESPECIALLY LOVED 'THE BANANA DANCE' AND '5,6,7, 8', - BOTH OF WHICH WERE REQUESTED WEEKLY.  I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALSION AND LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH HER AGAIN IN THE FUTURE.
